GARDENING volunteers have been boosted by council grants to help fund their floral displays.
Frinton in Bloom and Walton in Bloom both received £2,000 each from the town council.
The groups are run by volunteers in each town and work to create floral displays to brighten the area for residents and visitors.
They also run community outreach programmes, working with schoolchildren in the area, as well as organising applications for competitions like Anglia in Bloom.
Frinton and Walton Town Council has cash in its budget to donate £2,000 to each group every year, and that has now been donated to boost this year’s efforts.
Frinton in Bloom chairman David Foster said: “The money will help with everything we do.
“Every year we put together lots of floral displays and try to get the town looking its best, as well as working with the schools. All contributions are very important for us.”
The town council has also already given £500 to Kirby in Bloom.
