MORE than 30 hopefuls turned out for the first ever open audition for locals to take part in Frinton Summer Theatre.
The long-running repertory theatre is offering budding actors the chance to share the stage with established stars as part of its 75th anniversary year.
Auditions were held on Saturday at the Princes Theatre in Clacton, with a top turnout trying out for roles.
A morning workshop concentrated on looking for adult actors to take part, while an afternoon session put young stars of the future through their paces.
Two adults and several youngsters progressed to the formal auditions - which will include professional actors – due to be held in London later this month.
