A WALTON mum has slammed vandals who left her car with a gouge across its bonnet while she dropped her son at school.

Kelly Yems, of Cliff Parade, parked her car in a bay outside Hamford Primary Academy while she took her child inside.

When she returned to the car less than 15 minutes later she found the deep scratch, stretching from the windsrcreen down to the headlights.

It happened on Monday March 24.

Kelly said: “It was horrible to find. I’ve worked all my life to be able to buy my little car.

“It is very disappointing. I don’t understand what pleasure anyone could get out of such a mindless act.”

Kelly says the repair work to get rid of the gouge would cost about £400.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact Walton police on 101.
