A WALTON runner is set to test his body to the limit by running the London Marathon to boost an antenatal charity.
Sam Bettany, 26, will take on the marathon in April for the third time, after previously pounding through 26.2-mile route around the capital city streets in 2010 and 2012.
Last time he managed to complete the marathon in three hours and 34 minutes and is determined to set a new personal best this time around.
He is running on behalf of a charity named Antenatal Results and Choices.
Sam, who has recently become bar manager of the newly refurbished Walton and Frinton Yacht Club, said: “I’m a very keen runner and will be looking to better the time from my previous attempt.
“But mainly I’m keen to raise awareness for this fantastic charity which helped us through a very difficult time.
“If I can raise enough to help one family then all the tears and much sweat will be worth it.”
