WALTON’S new carnival queen and princesses have been selected to represent the area.
Jade Bigwood, 20, has been crowned as the queen, while 11 year olds Felicity Divers and Madison Henderson were named princesses.
The trio were picked to make up this year’s carnival court at a special evening event at Naze Marine Holiday Park.
Over the summer months the girls will take pride of place in the Walton Carnival procession, as well as representing the town at other carnivals around Essex.
Karlie McGregor from the Walton organising committee said: “They are all very excited about it. I think they’re particularly looking forward to getting fitted for their dresses.
“They will travel around to the other carnivals and do their bit to represent Walton. It’s an important job and I know they will do us proud.”
