SCHOOLCHILDREN were splattered with pancake ingredients as they dashed along the beach in Frinton.
The year six pupils from St Philomena’s took part in the school’s annual pancake race event, mixing the batter ingredients together as they raced to the finish line.
It is part of a school tradition to mark Shrove Tuesday.
Parents got in on the act too, lining the beach to cheer the youngsters on before taking part in their own pancake flipping race.
School registrar Annabel Sharman said: “We were blessed with lovely sunshine for the traditional race and it was enjoyed immensely by the whole school.”
