DETECTIVES have issued an e-fit image of a suspect wanted following a robbery at a mobile phone store in Clacton.

More than 100 phones and a number of iPads, valued at more than £10,000, were taken during a raid on the Carphone Warehouse, at Brook Retail Park.

Two men walked into the shop shortly after 5pm on February 19.

One man talked with two staff members to distract them while the second man walked to the staff room door and kicked it open.

The first man then pushed the two staff members into the rear of the shop while the second loaded items from the store room into a large bag before both men ran out through a rear fire door.

Investigating officer Det Con Emma Beynon said the staff members were unharmed but badly shaken.

"The retail park would have been quite busy at the time and we would like to talk to anyone who saw these men hanging around before the robbery or leaving in some kind of vehicle,” she said.

"The men would have been quite obvious because one was carrying a large bag full of boxes containing the phones and other items.”

The phones stolen included iPhone 4 and 5s, Samsung Notes and Galaxies and Blackberries.
The man in the e-fit image is described as being of mixed race with a round face.

He was at least 5ft 9in tall. The second man was white, slightly taller than the first, and was wearing a black beany hat.

Anyone who can identify the man should call Det Con Beynon at Clacton CID on 101.
