A CHARITY for young people has been given a share of a major cash windfall.

Teen Talk has been given £20,000 of a £57,500 pot of money handed over by Essex County Council’s Tendring Youth Strategy Group.

Five groups across the district were given a share of the money which will be used to support teenagers and those with special educational needs aged up to 25.

The Teen Talk cash will pay for an additional support worker and outreach work in schools and the community in Clacton.

Inclusion Ventures has been given £19,500 for a range of projects to help young people.

Tendring Careers, Employability and Skillsreceives £7,500 with most of the cash going towards a careers fair.

There is £6,500 for Tendring Youth Website and £4,000 for Clacton Fire Cadets.

Tendring Youth Strategy Group chairman Mick Page said: “The funding will be used to improve the lives of hundreds of young people in Tendring and it is going to make a real difference in the community.”
