A SHAKE-UP mean an extra £5,300 is being spent on Tendring Council’s new cabinet.

New council leader Mick Page has cut the number of cabinet posts from eight to seven.

But instead of having five full-time and three part-time posts, they will all now be full-time portfolios.

The seven posts will now cost the council an estimated £74,000 a year.

In a letter to councillors, Mr Page said: “I am confident that this is money well spent as I believe that the changes I have made to the cabinet make us stronger and more focussed on the most important issues facing the district.”
