YOBS went on a weekend rampage around Brightlingsea smashing cars and walls.

Police are appealing for information after five walls and two cars were damaged and another car was broken into with £500 tools stolen.

The damaged cars were parked in Stanley Avenue and the walls are in Regent Road, Seaview Road, Upper Park Road and George Avenue.

The incidents occurred in the late and early hours of last Saturday, February 8 and Sunday, February 9.

Neighbourhood Policing Sgt Simon Tattersall said: "We need the community to help us catch those responsible for causing this damage and ruining the atmosphere that everyone in this town has come to appreciate."

Neighbourhood policing officers have been conducting house-to-house enquiries and examining CCTV footage in a bid to identify the criminals.
