A CLACTON man has been arrested on suspicion of rape after a woman was attacked in a garden.

The victim, aged in her 40s, was raped in a garden off London Road, Marks Tey, in the early hours of February 2.

A 28-year-old man from Clacton was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of rape. He has been bailed until May while investigations continue.

Detectives have released a CCTV image of two potential witnesses they want to speak to following the attack.

They were on Colchester High Street at 2.30am on the Sunday and are believed to have spoken with the rape victim earlier.

One had blonde hair and carried a pink handbag while the other had dark hair and wore a blue dress.
