AN MP has pledged to help struggling doctor’s surgeries in Frinton and Walton after being contacted by more than 900 concerned residents.
Local MP Douglas Carswell has been inundated with appeals for help from patients.
Frinton’s Caradoc surgery and Walton’s Vicarage Lane facility are both short staffed and are struggling to recruit new doctors.
Surgery bosses and town councillors have been in discussions for several weeks to try to save the services.
Now Mr Carswell has also asked for a meeting with NHS bosses in a bid to force improvement for patients.
He said: “Over 900 people have recently contacted me expressing concerns about primary care provision in both Frinton and Walton. Things are clearly not good enough.
“What really troubles me is the thought that some people, especially older, more vulnerable folk, might not be getting the care that they need.
Mr Carswell says it is vital to make the area more attractive to new doctors to ease the staffing shortage and vowed to explore avenues of doing so.
