CLACTON-based solicitors have raised more than £1,000 for charity by taking part in a national fundraising bid.

Rhodda and Co solicitors took part in Will Aid at the end of last year.

They drew up 15 wills for people in the area, asking for donations to charity instead of charging a fee.

The firm has now counted up its total and has £1,150 to donate.

It will be put into a central cashpot of money raised through Will Aid all over the country and divided between nine charities.

Marry Liddy from Rhodda and Co said: “We had a very busy and successful campaign and are pleased to have provided this service to local people while supporting popular charities.

“We would like to thank those who took part and donated so generously and helped make our fundraising efforts such a success.”

The firm will take part in Will Aid again in November.

It is also one of the first firms in the country to be given a new quality mark for its work in carrying out wills for customers.
