BAR staff in Frinton have been fighting the urge to drink throughout January to raise cash for charity.
Natasha Jones, Christopher Baker and Joseph Jefferys, who work at the Lock and Barrel pub in Connaught Avenue, all signed up for Cancer Research UK’s Dryathlon challenge.
The trio avoided alcohol through the whole of January, collecting sponsorship and donations to boost the charity’s coffers.
Pub boss Charlie Rogers said: “It has been a really great effort from all three of them.
“I think it has been harder for some than others. A couple of them are known to enjoy a drink or two and it hasn’t made it any easier for them pouring pints at work all day.
“They have probably struggled with their inner demons a bit while watching punters enjoy their drinks, but they have come through it and raised a fantastic amount.”
Between them the drink-free bar staff managed to raise more than £1,000 for Cancer Research.
