INVESTIGATIONS are underway into the cause of a gas blast which destroyed two Clacton homes.
The explosion ripped through the homes in Cloes Lane at about 8.30am on Wednesday, raining debris on the surrounding area.
Nine people were taken to hospital, with two suffering serious burns.
The road remained closed overnight while emergency services remained on scene. Police will assess the situation again today.
