A CLACTON teacher narrowly missed out on claiming the award for Outstanding New Teacher of the Year.
Amy Sargent, from Clacton County High School, was named as a finalist for the award.
She was nominated by school principal Jeff Brindle and was handed a certificate, showing she is among the top three new teachers in the whole of Essex.
A County High spokesman said: “We are exceedingly proud of Amy’s fantastic achievement.
“Her nomination was passionately supported by several teachers at the school who praised her exceptional teaching style and dedication.”
