A COMMUNITY cinema is set to launch its first film of the new year after a successful 2013.
Frinton’s Cinema on Sea project screens movies at the town’s McGrigor Hall.
Cinema showings had to be stopped over the last two months while urgent work was undertaken to install a new floor at the hall.
But it is now back in action and cinema organisers want to pick up where they left off last year.
The first film of 2014 will be About Time, a romantic comedy with a twist from Richard Curtis, starring Rachel McAdams, Domhnall Gleeson and Bill Nighy.
Judith Charlesworth, co-founder of the Cinema on Sea scheme, said: “It is our first of the year and we are delighted to be up and running again.
“It has really become an established event in Frinton and has been growing all the time.
“We think it is vital for a town to have a cinema and it is fantastic to see people support what we are doing."
About Time will be screened on Saturday at 3pm and 7.30pm.
