A ROAD running alongside Pedlars Wood nature reserve was closed off after a tree collapsed across the tarmac.
The tree was felled by high winds on Thursday last week, blocking Central Avenue in Frinton.
Owners of Pedlars Wood moved quickly to get the wreckage cleared, bringing in an expert to safely deal with the tree.
It was cleared by Sunday morning, but highways signs and barriers remained in place saying the road was closed and preventing drivers from using it.
Police officers were informed on Tuesday and arrived to move the barriers, allowing cars to use Central Avenue again.
The barriers were left at the side of the road for Essex County Council to collect.
