A FRINTON school clinched a top gong at marking its outstanding leadership at the Essex Teaching Awards.
Tendring Technology College, which has sites in Frinton and Thorpe, was the only school in Essex to be nominated in three different categories for the prestigious awards.
And the school grabbed the top prize for the category of Governing Body of the Year.
Judges labelled the board of governors “inspirational” and said it has been instrumental in driving the school forwards.
College principal Caroline Haynes said: “It is such an honour to receive this award because we have an outstanding governing body which works tirelessly for the staff, students and whole community.
“I have worked closely with the chair of governors Jean Cains for the last ten years and she is a superb chair who has made a significant difference in moving the college from good to outstanding."
Winners from the Essex awards will be entered as finalists for the National Teaching Awards.
