A BID to help young people in Tendring find work is seeing Job Centre and Town Hall bosses team up in a new initiative.
Almost a third of the 2,900 people on the dole in the district are aged under 25.
A special event is being staged today in a bid to help young people find a job.
Hundreds of job-hunters visited the exhibition to try boost their chances of getting work.
They will talk to representatives from the emergency services, Princes Trust, Army and volunteer group CVS Tendring.
Tendring Council cabinet spokesman Sarah Candy said: “We are confident those who come along will leave with the potential of work experience, employment, a volunteering opportunity, and general advice on how to market themselves.
“They also had the chance to learn about the incentives available to them - along with experiencing the importance of team work.”
More than 560 young people currently claim Jobseekers Allowance from Clacton Jobcentre.
Groups of up to 50 are due to take part in team-building activities led by the Army and Chelsea FC.
Jobcentre spokesman Dave Anthony said: "The number of young people looking for work has greatly reduced in Tendring since March last year as more find work, and this event is just one of a number of ways we have to help and support young people into work.”
