ORGANISERS of an annual youth music competition have issued an urgent appeal for a venue to allow the event to go ahead this year.
Volunteer-run Clacton Livegig runs a Battle of the Bands competition every year.
The West Cliff Theatre has been booked to host a grand final this year, but organisers desperately need a venue for a preliminary round.
Adrian Simcock from Clacton Livegig said: “It can be tricky finding a suitable venue and now the pressure is on to get one set up in time.
“The competition is great for young musicians in the area because it gives them a platform to perform and improve."
Anyone with a venue suitable to host the under-18-friendly music competition should contact Adrian on 07902 246214 or search for Clacton Livegig on Facebook.
The venue must be available before the final, which is booked for May 23.
Musicians who would like to compete in the competition can also apply through the Facebook page.
