STREET lights in Tendring have been given a fortnight-long reprieve by Essex County Council.

Plans were in place to switch off the majority of lights in the district from midnight on January 26.

However a spokesman for Essex County Council said: “The implementation for Part-Night Lighting for Tendring will take place from 9th February following review by the cabinet member.”
