A £250,000 to prevent Jaywick homes from flooding starts on Monday.
The eight week project will see 100-metres of surface water sewer replaced and upgraded to protect houses in Park Square West.
Anglian Water spokesman Antony Innes said: “To allow the work to be completed as quickly and safely as possible we will need to close a short section of Park Square West, close to the junction with Boleyn Way for four weeks.”
A short diversion will be in place around the square and a bus stop in the work area will be relocated to Tudor Green.
Anglian Water apologised in advance for any disruption.
