Alresford: Clothing bin to raise cash for youth projects

Clacton and Frinton Gazette: Clothing bin to raise cash for youth projects Clothing bin to raise cash for youth projects

A NEW clothing bin has been installed in Alresford to boost youth projects in the area.

Volunteers at Alresford Youth Project applied to get one of the large recycling containers added to the village.

People can drop old or unwanted clothes into the bin, which has been placed outside Alresford Village Hall in Ford Lane.

Clothing bin providers LMB then recycle the items, generating cash for the youth project.

Any money raised will help provide more activities for youngsters, including new equipment at Alresford’s skatepark.

Adrian Simcock from the youth project said: “We have been trying for a little while to get one of the bins in place.

“We contacted LMB and they said ours was a very worthwhile cause.

“It all goes towards supporting children and young people in our area and hopefully it will help.

“Some of the youngsters have asked about getting lighting at the skatepark for when it gets dark so that is one thing it could go towards.”

The youth project worked in partnership with Alresford Parish Council to get the clothing bin in place.
