ALMOST four million black bags for household rubbish will be delivered to homes across Tendring over the coming weeks.

Residents are urged to keep an eye out for their supply as deliveries are made to more than 60,000 households across the district.

The operation began on January 20 and the target is to have all bags delivered by March.

Tendring Council bosses had looked at scrapping free black bags for residents in a bid to save cash but decided to keep the service.

Households are also being urged to put out their bin bags before 7am on the day of collection.
“We would ask all our residents not to put their waste out ahead of the collection day as it can cause significant problems,” said environment boss Nick Turner.
