THE British legion will help clean the graves of soldiers who died in the First World War as part of centenary events.
Anyone knowing of a grave or memorial in Tendring of a soldier who died in the conflict, which ran from 1914-1918, can inform their local Royal British Legion branch.
The legion will contact the war graves commission and arrange for them to be cleaned.
It is part of a Royal British Legion scheme to honour the fallen soldiers this year, which marks 100 years since the First World War began.
John Halls, of the Walton Royal British Legion branch said: “People just need to let their local branch know and we will make sure they are cleaned up and sorted out before August.
“I think it is a lovely gesture to make sure our soldiers are honoured properly this year.”
