Clacton: New details released as police search for gas bottle crooks

First published in News

POLICE have released new details about a gas canister raid in Clacton in a bid to catch the culprits.

Crooks cut a padlock to get into the yard of Clacton Tool Hire in Oxford Road on December 15.

Officers say the thieves visited the yard twice on the same day to complete the crime, stealing 17 gas bottles in total.

They grabbed the first batch of bottles between 6.30pm and 8pm, before returning to add to their haul between 9.30pm and 10.45pm.

The bottles were loaded into a silver Ford Focus and driven away from the scene.

Anyone with information should contact PC Louise Everitt on 101.
