A SPECIAL ceremony will be held in Clacton to pay tribute to victims of the Holocaust.

It will take place on Monday, January 27 at 11am to mark Holocaust Memorial Day, an annual tribute held since 2001.

Tendring Council’s interim leader Paul Honeywood will join members of the Colchester and District Jewish Community at the Sunken Rose seafront garden on Marine Parade West to observe the ceremony.

Mr Honeywood said: “In what is a very busy world it is a chance for us to make time to reflect and remember all those who lived through the horrific events of the Holocaust.

“It would be good to see people turn out and join us on January 27 and I invite residents of Tendring from all religious groups to come along and show their respect.”
