JEWELLERY was stolen after burglars smashed their way into a home in Jaywick.
The thieves forced open the front door of a bungalow in Humber Avenue before ransacking the property.
A spokesman for Essex Police said jewellery up to the value of £1,000 was taken during the raid.
He added that a forensic examination of the scene was conducted as well as house-to-house enquiries.
The December 18 and Monday. Anyone with information in connection with the burglary is urged to contact detectives at Clacton police station on 101.
