SHOPPERS are being warned not to get stung in the Boxing Day and New Year sales.
Essex County Council’s trading standards team is warning shoppers some bargains really are too good to be true.
Top tips include not assuming a 70 per cent reduction is a bargain as prices may have been inflated beforehand, and using a credit card for larger purchases to give yourself extra insurance.
People are also reminded that refunds only legally have to be given if a product is faulty or mis-described.
