TALENTED young dancers are celebrating a successful year and raising cash to take part in the national street dance finals.

The youngsters from Smooth Grooves Dance School, which runs classes across Tendring, have clinched more than 100 trophies between them over the last year.

All aged 4-17 years-old, the dancers have been travelling to competitions around the country, performing in disco freestyle, street dance and rock and roll categories.

And the Smooth Grooves dancers are looking to build on their success at the National Street Dance finals, set to take place in March 2014.

They are touring every possible event in Tendring in the lead-up to Christmas to show off their skills and raise the cash to take them to the finals.

They will also embark on a tour of care homes in the area after Christmas to boost their funds further.

Antonia Reed from Smooth Grooves said: “We have some really talented children. They all work incredibly hard and we are so proud of them.

“They are really putting Tendring on the map.”
