A JAYWICK carer was handed an award at a special ceremony in honour of her work improving the lives of residents.

Debbie Collins works as an activities coordinator for residents at Corner Lodge dementia care home in Jaywick.

She was given a Gold Award for her work by My Home Life Essex, an organisation which celebrates good care.

Debbie was picked out for the outstanding impact she has on her residents.

And she was presented with her award at a special ceremony at Corner Lodge by My Home Life bosses.

She said: “The whole occasion was brilliant and it was a real honour.

“I accepted the award on behalf of Corner Lodge, because I think everyone here does such a fantastic job. It is a real team effort.”

Debbie’s job includes working with residents and creating activities to help people with memory impairment, depression and challenging behaviour.
