RUBBISH collected in Brightlingsea High Street was put on display to show residents the impact it could have.
A one-hour clean up was organised by the town’s Rotary Club along with Tendring and Brightlingsea Town councils.
Volunteers rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in to tidy up the town centre.
John Holding from Brightlingsea Rotary Club said: “We had a very good response from the public who were surprised at the quantity of rubbish and complimented Rotary on their initiative.
“Fortunately the town is not a dirty place - but we can always make improvements as this joint effort showed.”
