SIXTEEN projects which improve the health and well-being of people across north east Essex have received a cash boost.
The schemes, which include support for those recovering from addictions and others receiving speech and language therapy, have been awarded a total of £22,368 in funding.
The money has been made available by community healthcare provider Anglian Community Enterprise.
The projects which will receive money include:
• Volunteer Centre Tendring which will get funding to buy an updated laptop and printer to enable it to provide volunteering advice to disadvantaged members of the community;
• Jaywick Leisure Club will get funding for new carpet for bowling, Jaywick Garden Club which will get funding for a coach outing and Jaywick Handicraft Club which will get money for rent, equipment and demonstrations
• 4 Youth Brightlingsea which will get money for a pool table and fishing equipment;
• Frinton and Walton Football Club which will get money for kit and equipment
A host of other groups around the area will also benefit from the funding.
