COMEDIAN Griff Rhys Jones put on a special show to boost funds for Walton and Frinton Yacht Club.
The club has been building a new clubhouse as part of a major revamp over the last year.
It is nearing completion and should be ready within a matter of months.
And a special celebrity fundraiser was held in the almost-completed clubhouse to help raise funds for the remaining work.
The event was hosted by comedian, actor and TV personality Griff Rhys Jones.
About 140 people packed into the function rooms of the new venue to hear him talk about his life and sailing background.
The celebrity guest also took on the role of auctioneer, taking bids on a host of items including signed copies of his book.
The evening raised more than £5,000 in total.
