BEACH huts in Walton were smashed to pieces as they bore the brunt of last week's tidal surge.
Several of the huts positioned right on the edge of the beach were damaged, while others were destroyed completely by the forceful waves.
Walton beach hut association chairman Eddie Fenwick said: “It is in a bad way down there.
“At least three of the huts have been washed out to sea, another four were destroyed and lots have been damaged.
“It’s not a nice sight to see down there at all. Unfortunately what’s done is done. It was an act of God and there’s nothing you can do about that.
“There was so much damage I had to just pass it along to Tendring Council.”
Mr Fenwick said the council had done an excellent job in quickly moving away the wreckage and helping the owners of the shattered hut.
