A LEADING seafront hotel is set to be relaunched tomorrow following a £1million overhaul.

Investors from the Flying Trade Group have spent the money refurbishing the Kingscliff Hotel in Kings Parade, Holland-on-Sea, over the past year.

The investment has been welcomed as a shot in the arm for the tourism industry by town hall bosses.

Brian van Oosten, a spokesman for the group, said the company is proud of what it has achieved and is extremely confident about the future.

The Kingscliff has created an additional six luxury bedrooms on the roof over the restaurant, a further seven on the ground floor by converting the old function room and upgraded all of its other bedrooms which now total 30.

The entire building has had a complete makeover and the old Kingscliff pub has been transformed into a new function room with a private bar.

Peter Halliday, leader of Tendring Council, said the revamp showed great confidence in the district.

“This is a really significant investment in Tendring’s tourist industry and the accommodation provided for all types of visitors - I applaud the company for having faith and belief in Tendring,” he said.
