A LADIES bowls club from Clacton has raised £500 in support of Clacton RNLI.
Clacton Ladies Bowls Club visited Clacton lifeboat station, in Hastings Avenue, on November 25.
Ladies captain Rose Schofield has chosen the lifeboat charity as her nominated charity for the 2013 season.
A spokesman said: “The volunteer crew members gave a short presentation about the formation and history of the RNLI including the developments of Clacton's own lifeboat station.
“The visit concluded with a tour of the station, with details of the equipment and the capabilities of the lifeboats.
“Crew members Darren Simper and Jim Green accepted the generous donation of £500.”
The crew thanked Mrs Schofield and her club colleagues.
