A LANDSCAPING firm from Clacton has won a regional award for its work.
Clacton-based P. Halliday landscapers and builders was accepted onto the prestigious Marshalls Register this year.
The register comprises of just 1,000 members across the country and recognises excellence in hard landscaping design such as block paving.
The firm’s boss Peter Halliday said: “It’s a difficult register to get on to, but we have been successful in doing that and were able to enter the competition for best project by a new member – and we won the regional contest.
“It was for a domestic drive in Turpins Avenue, Holland-on-Sea, which uses larger than normal Elise blocks.
“The project looks lovely and I think it stands out from the rest of the street.
“I’m really proud of my team. I’m a busy man and it is fantastic to know I can leave projects in the safe hands of my right-hand man, my son Ben.
“It’s really important then when so many people in our industry do a shoddy job that we have a national register like this that recognise quality work using quality products.”
The firm carries out projects across Tendring and Colchester.
The contest saw 650 entrants in seven categories. Twenty of the winning projects will be selected to fight it out for the group’s national awards.
