RESIDENTS have thanked a mystery benefactor who replaced planters full of cemetery flowers which were destroyed by vandals.
Volunteers fill planters outside Kirby Cross Cemetery with colourful floral displays twice a year.
And they were shocked to see the flowers torn out of the planters in a vandal attack in October.
But when residents went to plant some new flowers in their place last week they found that a green-fingered mystery figure had already done the work.
Kirby Residents Association chairman Ray Enever said: “When the team went out to put new flowers in place they found the planters already full of flowers.
“It is a shame the originals were vandalised but this is a wonderful gesture.
“We don’t know who is responsible but we want to thank them for what they have done.”
