A JAYWICK carer will be handed a special award for her work helping residents.
Debbie Collins works as an activities coordinator at Corner Lodge dementia care home in Jaywick.
Her job includes working with residents and creating activities to help those with memory impairment, depression and challenging behaviour.
And Debbie will be given a My Home Life Essex Gold Award to recognise her excellent work with residents.
Corner Lodge directors Sanjay and Rahul Jagota praised Debbie for her performance in the vital role.
Rahul said: “Debbie had no experience of work in a care home when she came to Corner Lodge.
“What she did bring, though, was her warm and cheerful personality, her compassionate nature, her lively imagination, and her boundless enthusiasm.
“Through her excellent relationships with residents, families, staff and local people Debbie has not only enriched the lives of the people who live at Corner Lodge, but she also helped to develop the services the home is able to offer to the surrounding community."
Debbie will be given her award at a ceremony on December 3.
