3:00pm Thursday 17th October 2013 in News
COUNCIL staff will be spending a day on their feet in a cancer charity fundraiser.
Charity movement Stand Up To Cancer has organised a nationwide event to raise cash for the cause.
It is encouraging people to take the Stand Up To Cancer message literally and stay standing on Friday to raise sponsorship cash.
And Essex County Council staff based at Magnet House in Clacton plan to join the effort.
They will stay standing in the office from 9am to 4.30pm.
They fundraisers have already raised more than £350 in sponsorship and are hoping to pass the £500 mark.
Anyone wanting to sponsor their efforts can do so online at justgiving.com/teams/BSAStandup2Cancer.
People can also donate by texting BSAS66 plus an amount to 70070.
