Get-fit skipping scheme visits Clacton school
6:00pm Tuesday 22nd October 2013 in News
A TOURING skipping scheme got youngsters leaping to boost their fitness when it visited a Clacton school.
John McCormac, founder of the Skip2Bfit programme, brought the scheme to Holland Park School on Tuesday.
He dished out digital skipping ropes to the youngsters and challenged them to skip as many times as possible in two minutes.
John worked with the youngsters to help them improve their score throughout the day.
After the skipping workouts he handed out fruit to the exhausted schoolchildren.
The Skip2Bfit boss started the scheme ten years ago, visiting hundreds of schools and even getting celebrities and the Prime Minister to try out the challenge.
John said: “We had a great day in Clacton. The kids absolutely loved it and the school enjoyed having us there.
“The programme is all about improvement and getting the youngsters to challenge themselves.
“It’s not just about skipping. It’s teaching them messages they can take back into the classrooms and use in everyday life.
John wants any other Clacton schools interested in trying the Skip2Bfit challenge to contact him through the website skip2bfit.com.
