Frinton: Apple day fundraiser boosts heritage trust projects
10:00am Monday 21st October 2013 in News
HUNDREDS of visitors browsed through stalls stacked high with apples in a fundraiser for Frinton and Walton Heritage Trust.
The annual apple day saw Frinton’s Cottage Garden transformed into an apple market.
Most of the apples were picked from the garden’s own trees and sold on the day to boost the heritage trust’s coffers.
More than 300 people flooded the garden’s gates and into the event on Saturday.
And even after working their way past the array of apple stands, visitors were able to enjoy a variety of other stalls selling everything from books to plants.
Organisers are still totting up the final fundraising total but expect it to be well over £1,000.
