A HERO hound is being honoured for his lifesaving actions with an animal bravery award.
Geo the German shepherd collie cross broke his back, shattered his legs and punctured his lung when he lept in front of a runaway lorry heading straight for his 10-year-old owner, Charlie Riley.
The puppy was just seven months old at the time of the incident last November, which happened on Burrs Road in Clacton.
Geo is now set to receive a special award from the International Fund for Animal Welfare at the Animal Action Awards at the House of Lords on October 22 hosted by Baroness Gale and presented by TV wildlife presenter Bill Oddie.
