Clacton Rugby Club handed new lease to boost improvement scheme
6:00pm Tuesday 15th October 2013 in News
CLACTON Rugby Club will be able to move forward with clubhouse improvement plans after securing a new lease.
The club is looking to boost its facilities in Valley Road with an extension to the clubhouse and new lighting for two pitches.
Club trustees currently hold a 42-year lease for the facilities with Tendring Council, which runs out in August 2015.
Bosses needed to secure a longer security of tenure in order to be successful in its bid for funding for the improvement scheme.
Tendring Council agreed to an early renewal of the lease and the club now has a new agreement in place, guaranteeing its future and allowing the facility-improvement scheme to go ahead.
