Weeley: Lynch Mob group handed thousands in funding boost
4:00pm Monday 7th October 2013 in News
A GROUP is celebrating after receiving a massive funding boost.
The volunteer-run Lynch Mob group runs sessions to bring disabled and able-bodied people together for social events and meetings.
And the charity has now clinched a £3,400 lottery grant following a successful application.
Delighted volunteers say the cash is a big boost in helping them to keep the Lynch Mob thriving.
Secretary Janet Rowe said: “We had been struggling for a little while with our funds going down and down. It is a tough time for a lot of charities because there is not much money around.
“This is completely voluntary for all of us and normally we have to raise any money ourselves, so this will make a massive difference.”
The charity meets on the first Wednesday of every month for themed nights at Weeley village hall to encourage integration between people with and without disabilities.
It also organises outings throughout the year.
