Frinton: Equipment, food and chickens stolen in allotment raid spate
12:00pm Monday 7th October 2013 in News
ALLOTMENT owners in Frinton have hit out at clinical crooks who have repeatedly raided their plots.
Green-fingered residents with plots at the Witton Wood Road allotment site have been targeted in a spate of burglaries over the summer.
The culprits have ripped expensive hosing out the ground, grabbed fittings and tools and even pinched food and livestock.
Pamela Von Kaenel, who keeps chickens at the site, but has seen four of them vanish in the midnight raids.
She said: “This summer has been filled with fear and dread. We have had several break-ins and thefts including three in September alone."
Pamela says the raiders are clinical, not leaving any mess behind and only taking what they can carry.
She added: “We need people to be vigilant and try to put a stop to this. The police are aware but they can’t watch it constantly."
Anyone with information on the thefts should contact police in Walton on 101.
