A CHARITY which works to help the visually impaired around Essex has been given a massive cash boost.
Essex Blind Charity has been handed a £210,000 grant through the Big Lottery Fund’s Reaching Communities scheme.
The whopping windfall will be paid to the charity over the next three years.
Charity manager Janet Plant said: “We are delighted that the Reaching Communities scheme has recognised the importance of the work we do, and look forward to providing an even better service for people with sight loss in Essex.”
The charity works to help people remain safe and independent after losing their sight, as well as organising regular clubs and activities.
With its latest cash boost, Essex Blind Charity is looking to expand its services even further.
People can contact the charity by calling 0870 240 5418 or visiting essexblind.co.uk.
