6:00pm Monday 30th September 2013 in News
A KIND-HEARTED teenager is hard at work compiling questions for a major quiz fundraiser in memory of a former teacher.
Lewis Richards, 17, was inspired to set up the fundraiser too boost Cancer Research UK following the death of science teacher Eve Cross.
Popular Clacton County High School teacher Eve died after a battle with breast cancer in November 2012, aged just 29.
Lewis organised his first Cancer Research fundraiser last year after Eve’s diagnosis, and has now pledged to hold a second event in her memory.
He wants the quiz to become an annual event to boost the fight against cancer.
Last year’s event raised more than £700, and Lewis wants to top that this year.
He said: “So much work has to go into something like this but it’s all worth it when you raise so much money for a good cause.”
The quiz night will take place on October 25 from 7pm at St Paul’s Church Hall in Clacton.
Teams should consist of 4-6 people are it costs £3 per person to take part. To book a team email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01255 220960.
